Running a product development business while writing a book isn’t a "graceful balancing act." It’s more like trying to keep forty browser tabs open while my computer is screaming for a reboot.
Real life insists on being lived in between the pages. Honestly though, I wouldn’t have it any other way. My life is my own, and the challenges I face are mine to claim victory over.
The last few months have been spent keeping everyday life from descending into complete chaos while carving out the quiet mental space I need to write something as personal as Not My Narrative: No Apologies. Writing this isn’t just a matter of putting words on a page. It requires reflection, honest self-examination, and the uncomfortable process of revisiting difficult moments that shaped how I see the world. It has been a brutal, but eye-opening experience.
Progress is slower than I originally hoped, but the project is very much alive and moving forward.
As the manuscript has evolved, something interesting has happened. What I originally thought was straightforward nonfiction has become a hybrid memoir. I’m blending my personal experiences with the societal and cultural moments that influenced the questions I’ve been asking for years.
This isn’t a lecture or a manifesto. It’s my story about identity and personal responsibility. I’m addressing the friction that has arisen between my lived experiences and the narratives pushed by social media and traditional outlets. Bottom line: the only one allowed to rewrite my story is me.
Expect this book to be honest, occasionally uncomfortable, and more than a tad snarky. Also, there’s explicit language—because that’s who I am.
I appreciate everyone waiting for updates while I navigate the reality of maintaining my businesses and building this book. Both matter to me. Both deserve the time and care required to do them properly.
More updates are coming soon. The story is still unfolding.
